My Alaska trip was really fun! I’ve been there before (1996?), but last time there was a blizzard so our activities were limited. I remember performing in Anchorage and Kenai and barely getting from show to show because of the weather. This time I was able to fulfill a lifelong dream. I got to go Salmon fishing! My new friends Charlie Largent, Pauly Light, and Kyle Klepinger took me up the 20mile river near Girdwood, AK. The water was beautiful. It looked very different. It had a metallic color to it because of the silt. I’ll probably murder this description but I believe silt is a granular sand-like material derived from rocks that are broken down over millions of years from the glaciers. Or something like that! There’s your history lesson for the day! Anyhow, it was really cool looking. Traveling up this river an amazing backdrop unfolded with huge snow-capped mountains, millions of green trees, rocks, and a ton of wildlife. I even saw my 1st Bald Eagle! Pretty crazy! I joked that this had to be one of God’s top 10 vacation spots. LOL! We waded in the river all day and caught tons of massive Silver Salmon. They were like pulling in a Volkswagen! I was like a kid in a candy store! Times like that never last long enough. That’s a great memory. Our show in Anchorage at the Discovery Center was a success too. Awesome to see so many fans! I was so impressed by the people in the great state of Alaska. So moved by the hospitality. Can’t wait to go back!
